Special Occasion Licencing / Liquor Permits
GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTING SPECIAL OCCASION LICENCES
Groups and organizations having a special occasion where alcohol is
being served must have a Special Occasions Licence approved by
their local police department. Blank application permits can be
obtained at any liquor store.
The following information must be completed on each
application:
- A Serving It Right Licensee Number (a number with the letter
"L" or "R" in it) If the application does not show a licensee
number, the applicant must obtain one. This information can be
obtained from their website www.pssg.gov.bc.ca
- Personal Information and Organization Information should be
complete with a phone number to reach the applicant
- Liquor quantities and prices MUST be complete (even if there is
no-charge for the alcohol being served)
- Application must be signed and dated
The Victoria Police Department charges a $25.00 processing fee
for each application. (There are also fees charged by the Liquor
Control Board and paid to them directly.)
When the applications are processed and approved by the Victoria
Police Department, usually within 24 hours, the application will be
called and can pick up their completed application at the front
counter.
