GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTING SPECIAL OCCASION LICENCES

Groups and organizations having a special occasion where alcohol is being served must have a Special Occasions Licence approved by their local police department. Blank application permits can be obtained at any liquor store.

The following information must be completed on each application:

  • A Serving It Right Licensee Number (a number with the letter "L" or "R" in it) If the application does not show a licensee number, the applicant must obtain one. This information can be obtained from their website www.pssg.gov.bc.ca
  • Personal Information and Organization Information should be complete with a phone number to reach the applicant
  • Liquor quantities and prices MUST be complete (even if there is no-charge for the alcohol being served)
  • Application must be signed and dated

The Victoria Police Department charges a $25.00 processing fee for each application. (There are also fees charged by the Liquor Control Board and paid to them directly.)

When the applications are processed and approved by the Victoria Police Department, usually within 24 hours, the application will be called and can pick up their completed application at the front counter.

If you have any questions, please call Cathie Jorgensen, local 7245 or Sgt. Simpson, local 7218.
