2008 Quick Facts

CANADA DAY celebrations were well attended; estimated 50,000 people took in the fireworks. Lots of alcohol was poured out.

Less problems than the year before but we still processed almost 60 people through cells for a variety of offences, 31 were liquor related.

Our Communication Centre received 118 calls for service between 6:00 p.m – 1:00 a.m.

Almost 60 of those were directly related to Canada Day festivities.

In all, we handled over 200 calls for service on July 1 and into the early morning hours of July 2.
