Change of Name ProcessIf you wish to apply for a change of name your must do so through the Provincial Government’s Vital Statistics Agency. Victoria PD does offer fingerprinting services for this purpose. When you attend the office for fingerprinting, please make sure that you have completed all documents in your name change package and have inserted the appropriate documents to be mailed to Vital Statistics. Please bring the envelopes provided with your application.
Two important things to remember are:
- Have the application notarized by a notary public, lawyer or Vital Statistics prior to attending for fingerprinting
- Be sure to fill out the “payment details” section of your application. If paying by money order please bring this to the police department with your application.
Our office will send your entire name change application and fingerprints to Vital Statistics. Please note that once the package has been sent Victoria PD has no control over processing time.
