The Operational Support Services Division (OSSD) provides specialized services in support of general VicPD operations. OSSD is comprised of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT), Marine Response Unit (MRU), Crowd Management Unit (CMU), Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT), Canine Section (K-9) and the Operational Planning Section.

Specialized services as varied as mental health response in the community to the planning of major events such are as Canada Day are handled by this Division. OSSD is proud of its record in ensuring public safety by deploying these specialized resources often in time sensitive circumstances and difficult conditions.
