The Victoria Police Department supports and encourages open and transparent communications with the public. We understand that from time to time, Freedom of Information requests are made on the basis that the information being requested is in the public interest. In that spirit, the Department will further facilitate that goal by placing F.O.I. requests for information other than personal information on this website, in order to ensure that the information is more widely available to the public.

• Vancouver Winter Olympics Overtime Costs:
  A Freedom of Information request was received asking for the amount of overtime paid to Victoria Police officers in relation to 2010 Winter Olympic assignments between February 1 - 28, 2010.
   
  The total amount is $365,000. This overtime was funded by the Integrated Security Unit.
