Strike Force - is a trained and fully functional covert surveillance unit with the ability to work independently, as a component of a major crimes investigation or in the role of intelligence gathering activities for the Department. Primary investigative focus is placed upon but not limited to illicit drug related investigations. The Section also has responsibility for the development of drug experts within the Department to be relied upon in court and for both recruit training and public awareness lectures.

Street Crime Unit - is a plainclothes unit responsible for a number of portfolios including property crimes, gang and guns related projects, and high-risk offenders. The Section develops targets based on intelligence received and either brings them to project status for other sections to investigate or takes enforcement action themselves. The Unit also assists as and where required with both Strike Force and Major Crimes Investigators.
