Police Issue Warrant for Busker Assault Suspect (11-20373)
Shane Michael Dailey, a 23-year-old Langford man, is wanted by VicPD for the assault of a popular downtown busker that occurred back in June.
Dailey is wanted for assault and mischief, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
On June 11, Dailey assaulted a well-known Victoria street performer at Government and Wharf Streets. The attack came without warning or provocation when the busker was tackled to the ground during the middle of his set.
The street performer suffered minor injuries and also had his violin broken.
VicPD were able to identify Dailey as the culprit following numerous tips from the public. The attack spawned significant interest from the online community and spread virally via Twitter and YouTube. Twitter followers rallied to support the popular performer and even secured the donation of a new violin courtesy of Larsen Music.
Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of Shane Dailey is asked to contact VicPD Major Crimes Detective Lori Beauvais (250-995-7256 / lori.beauvais@vicpd.ca).

Fourteen Drug Dealers Busted in Latest Pandora Crackdown (11-38564)
Fourteen people face charges of drug trafficking following the latest crackdown by members of VicPD's Focused Enforcement Team and Strike Force.
The project, entitled "November Reign", focused on drug dealing in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue and was initiated in response to community concerns.
"This undercover project targeting prolific drug traffickers is just one small aspect of the strategy to decrease crime in the Pandora area," said S/Sgt. Dave Bown of the Focused Enforcement Team. "Combined with our high visibility patrols and close working relationship with downtown service providers, we're committed to make the area safe for everyone."
Undercover operators purchased cocaine and heroin over a three-day period, from November 15-18. Warrants were recently issued and police have already arrested 12 of the individuals. Two of the dealers remain outstanding on warrants.
Typically, VicPD's Focused Enforcement Team conducts similar drug crackdown projects two or three times a year. In May, 22 drug dealers were arrested in Project "Cinco de Mayo".
