Do You Know These Theft Suspects?

Victoria, BC –  Investigators are asking for your help in identifying several men and two vehicles who were caught on surveillance video filling up vehicles with fuel using a stolen fuel card.

The investigation into the use of the stolen fuel card is part of a theft which occurred on or before  April 22nd, 2017 in the 2800-block of Douglas Street in which over $5000 of tools and equipment were taken. It is believed that the persons depicted in the surveillance video filling their vehicles may be involved in the original theft.

Victoria, BC – Today marks a sobering anniversary in our history. June 2nd is the official End of Watch for Cst. Johnston Cochrane, who was killed in the line of duty 158 years ago. Cst. Cochrane was the first law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty in British Columbia and the first VicPD officer to make the ultimate sacrifice. His story is told below by Sgt. Jonathan Sheldan.

Summer Action Plan Launched for the Third Year

Victoria BC – After positive feedback from our community, tourists and businesses, the VicPD Summer Action Plan launches today.

 

In an effort to be more visible in the downtown core, VicPD will again deploy its administrative staff to walk the beat over the summer months.  In total, there will be 19 administrative staff redeployed during the peak hours of the day to be downtown, visible to businesses, tourists, and the residents of downtown Victoria.
