Photo Of Armed Robbery Suspects Released

Victoria, BC – An image of the suspects in yesterday’s armed robbery of a jewelry business in the 600-block of Fort Street is being released by investigators.

Officers were called to the 600-block of Fort Street yesterday at around 4:35 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Two men had entered the store, produced weapons and taken merchandise. The men, described as Caucasian males, were both wearing dark clothing and dark “construction style” safety vests with high-viz green stripes on them and masks.

Victoria, BC – Investigators are asking for your help as we seek to identify two men who are suspects in a Break and Enter/Theft investigation.

Officers were called to the Bay Centre on July 1st, 2017 after staff at a business there discovered their business had been broken into and cash stolen overnight. Investigation revealed the two men had entered the Bay Centre just after 11 p.m. on the night of June 30th, 2017 and had broken into the business.

Victoria, BC – Today marks the 159th year since VicPD’s founding.


Augustus Pemberton was appointed the first Commissioner of Police for the Crown Colony of Vancouver Island on July 7th, 1858. This appointment officially founded our department. Governor James Douglas authorized Pemberton to hire “a few strong men with good character.” This colonial police force was referred to as the Victoria Metropolitan Police, and was the forerunner of the Victoria Police Department.

Victoria, BC – VicPD Detectives are asking for your help as they seek to locate a man wanted on warrants after allegedly assaulting a woman.

Micah McClure described as a 38-year-old Caucasian male, with a medium build, weighing about 160 lbs. He is clean shaven, with a shaved head and blue eyes. A photograph of McClure is below.

Statement on the passing of RCMP Constable and former VicPD Reserve Constable and Volunteer Austin MacDougall

It’s with a heavy heart that we learned of the death of RCMP Cst. Austin MacDougall, who served with us as a VicPD Volunteer and Reserve Constable. Austin was killed in Edson, Alberta, while cycling off-duty.

Austin served in our Volunteer Program from 2011 to 2012, and as a Reserve Constable from 2012 to 2015. By all accounts, he served the Town of Edson with the same dedication and enthusiasm that he brought to his work here with us.

Officers Investigating After Attempted Child Luring

Victoria, BC – Officers are investigating after an attempted child luring.


Officers were called just after 4 p.m. yesterday after a 12-year-old reported that she and her friend were approached by a man who tried to get her to go to a secluded part of the Cecelia Ravine Park.  The girls ran away to seek assistance from a parent. The girl was physically uninjured.


UPDATE | Two In Custody After Armed Robbery Of Marijuana Storefront

Victoria, BC – Two men are now in custody as VicPD Detectives continue our investigation into an armed robbery of a marijuana storefront that occurred in the 3100-block of Harriet Street on Tuesday night.

VicPD officers were called to the marijuana storefront for a report of a robbery with a firearm at approximately 7:30 p.m. A stolen grey BMW 335i associated with the robbery was recovered on Wednesday and man arrested.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
