Witnesses Sought In Sudden Death

Victoria, BC – VicPD investigators are looking to speak to witnesses after an elderly Victoria man died after being taken to hospital with a head injury.

On December 15th, just before 6:30 p.m., the man was located in the parking lot of a car dealership in the 1000-block of Yates Street. Employees of the dealership reported being directed to the man lying prone on the ground by an as-of-yet unidentified witness. The employees provided medical aid and called for an ambulance.

Update: Timothy Bingham has been located and is safe.

Officers are asking for your help in locating missing man Timothy, “Ted” Bingham.

Ted is described as a fifty-five year-old Caucasian man, with a strong build, who stands five feet, ten to ten-and-one-half inches tall. Ted has receding dark brown hair, and brown eyes. He sometimes wears a beard, which is grey and white. Two photographs of Ted are below.

Persons of Interest Sought In Break & Enter

Victoria, BC – Investigators are asking for your help in identifying two persons of interest after a woman’s Fernwood residence was broken into, her car stolen and her credit card used for fraudulent purchases.

Between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on November 25th an unknown person entered the victim’s home through an unlocked front door. This person then stole items from the home including a wallet and car keys. The victim’s car, which was parked out front of her home was also taken. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Suspect Sought After Indecent Act

Victoria, BC – Investigators are asking for your help after a young man exposed himself to a teenage girl in an indecent act in a local park.

Around 3:30 p.m. on December 14th, 2016 officers were called to speak with the victim after she reported that a young man had exposed himself to her while she walking through the park at the intersection of Mount Stephen Avenue and Ryan Street. The victim, a young teenage girl, was not physically injured and fled the scene. She immediately sought a trusted adult who stayed with her while she called police.

VicPD Adds Another Tool to Fight Bike Theft

Victoria, BC – VicPD has another tool at its disposal to combat bike theft in the City of Victoria and Township of Esquimalt. 

Due to an increase in bike theft, VicPD acquired bait bike technology to trial over the past two months.

VicPD’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has deployed bait bikes in strategic spots with success over the past two months. They were able to arrest a Victoria area man, who was subsequently sentenced to 8 months in jail.  Another man was arrested while stealing a bait bike and is facing theft charges.

Multi-Jurisdictional Investigation Results in Major Fentanyl Seizure

Victoria, BC – VicPD is recommending multiple drug trafficking charges against Duc Khoung Pham, a 27-year-old Montreal man, after a multi-agency investigation resulted in over a million dollars of drugs seized.

VicPD began working on this investigation in mid-October when we were alerted by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) that a large shipment of fentanyl was destined to an address in Victoria from China. CBSA officers were able to intercept this package and in total, CBSA was able to seize 1.45 kilograms of fentanyl, which has an estimated value of $400,000.
