VicPD and Victoria Fire Department Investigating Suspicious Fire

Victoria BC – VicPD and the Victoria Fire Department continue to investigate yesterday morning’s fire that occurred in the 700-block of Queens Avenue.

Numerous officers and firefighters responded around midnight and then again at 7:20 a.m. for a flare-up.

The investigation continues and both departments are working closely together to determine the cause of the blaze.

Officers Investigating Centennial Square Stabbing

Victoria BC – VicPD officers are investigating after a man was stabbed in Centennial Square early this morning.

Patrol officers arrived shortly after 4:15 a.m. this morning after being called to Centennial Square for a report of a 38-year-old man suffering from a stab wound.  Officers located the man, who was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It is very early in the investigation and investigators are actively seeking any witnesses to this serious assault.

Officers Investigating Stabbing

Victoria, BC – VicPD officers are investigating after a man was stabbed in the 800-block of Burdett Avenue early yesterday morning.

Patrol officers arrived shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15th, after being called to the 800-block of Burdett Avenue for a report of a man suffering from a stab wound. Officers located the man, who was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Initial indications are that the incident occurred in the “Tent City” encampment.

VicPD Looking for Suspect and Witnesses for Hit-and-Run

Victoria, BC – VicPD officers are looking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run that sent an elderly man to hospital.

On March 13th, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., officers were called after an elderly man was struck by a vehicle in the 1300-block of Hillside Avenue. It is believed that the vehicle, described as small and grey, was driven by a lone male occupant and it left the scene immediately without stopping to check on the victim.

VicPD Detectives Looking for Witnesses to Stabbing

Victoria BC – VicPD Detectives are looking for witnesses to a late-night stabbing that occurred last weekend.

Officers were called to the 1000-block of Government Street just after 1:00 a.m., on Saturday for reports of two men that had been stabbed. VicPD Patrol members quickly arrived to find two men, one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to the hospital.

Bank Robbery Suspect Located

UPDATE: Just after 9:00p.m, on March 8th, VicPD attended the 800 blk of View Street in relation to the robbery. Police located and arrested the suspect without incident. We would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in distributing the photo and information.

Body Located In Water off Ogden Point

Victoria, BC – VicPD investigators and the BC Coroner Service are investigating after a body was found in the water near Ogden Point this morning.

VicPD Patrol members attended just after 10:15 a.m., after a passing boater had located a body approximately one kilometre from shore.

VicPD Major Crime Detectives and the BC Coroner Service are in the very preliminary stages of the investigation and more information will be released when it is available.
