Victoria, BC – Chief Constable Frank Elsner is making a special appeal to local Chinese members of our community as VicPD Financial Crimes Section Detectives investigate a local occurrence of the “blessing scam” that cost a Victoria resident over $50,000.

“Billy Bob” is safe and well.

Two Sent To Hospital After Early Morning Collision

Victoria, BC – A man and a woman are recovering in hospital after an early morning collision at the intersection of Vancouver Street and Pandora Avenue.

VicPD Patrol and Traffic officers responded to a number of calls to our 911 Communications Centre just before 7 a.m. this morning for a report of a three vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers discovered the drivers of two of the vehicles involved suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

PUBLIC ALERT – Attempted “Canada Revenue Agency” scam leaves woman in tears

Victoria, BC – VicPD Fraud detectives, Patrol officers, 911 Communications Centre Operators and Crime Prevention staff all are urging the public to be vigilant after a sharp increase in the number of reports of the “Canada Revenue Agency” scam over the last few days.

Calls have flooded the VicPD 911 Communications Centre and several citizens have attended our Caledonia Headquarters, traumatized, and in some cases – in an attempt to turn themselves in for what they believed to be non-payment of their taxes.
