Seeking Witnesses to Incident Aboard BC Transit Bus

Victoria Police are seeking the public’s assistance with an incident which occurred on the #27 BC Transit bus on Monday January 5, 2015, whereby a suspect inappropriately touched a female.

After the incident, at approximately 6:00 pm, the #27 Bus stopped at a bus stop at Pandora Ave and Quadra St and the driver asked all of the passengers to leave the bus.  Victoria Police are interested in speaking with any of those passengers, as they are potential witnesses to the incident in question.

LOCATED! Missing 12-year-old found safe

Moments ago, the missing 12-year-old girl whom we asked for your help in locating, was found safe. Our Patrol officers are with her now and will be soon reuniting her with her family.

‘Tis the Season for Scammers

Victoria BC – The holiday season often brings out the best in people, and here at VicPD we’ve seen that in spades. This was no more evident than seeing a fantastic 10-year-old dropping off gifts for the needy and our own officers and professional support staff fundraising for Santa’s Anonymous and the Burnside Gorge Community Centre. Unfortunately, the season of giving is often the season of taking for those that would prey on goodwill.

Victoria Police Athletic Association Awards Scholarships

Victoria BC – Today, the Victoria City Police Athletic Association (VCPAA) and VicPD Chief Frank Elsner awarded their educational scholarships to deserving recipients.

The VCPAA scholarships are given to students who demonstrate academic achievement and both school and community involvement.  The scholarship is for a student who shows an overall commitment to team sports and helping within the school and their community. The scholarship goes to graduating students and encourages them to pursue further education.

Christmas Gift Drop-Off a Success

Victoria BC – Yesterday afternoon, a 10-year-old named Kian came to VicPD, dropping off gifts for those in need to VicPD staff and representatives from Rock Bay Landing shelter.

Kian wanted to do something special for those in need, and crafted ten gift bags filled with gloves, socks, toiletries and goodies destined for those on the street. VicPD staff, including Deputy Chief Del Manak, were on hand to help get the gifts to those in need.

VicPD Ushers In the Holiday Season

Victoria BC – While VicPD members often spend their days catching the proverbial “Grinches who would steal Christmas,” this past week officers have been busy ushering in the holiday season in a most remarkable way.

Members of VicPD’s Focused Enforcement Team, Crime Reduction Unit and Strike Force sections took the spirit of the season to heart and, with the assistance of the Burnside Gorge Community Association, were able to sponsor a deserving family for Christmas.
