Have You Seen Missing Man Yannick Myers?

Victoria, BC – Officers are asking for your assistance as we work to locate missing man Yannick Myers.

Yannick is described as an 36-year-old Caucasian man standing five feet, nine inches tall, weighing about 175 lbs. Yannick has blue eyes, dirty blonde or light brown hair and often wears a full beard. Yannick also has a scar on his upper lip. Two photographs of Yannick are below.   

Investigation Continues Into Altercation Which Sent Man To Hospital

One man remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a brief altercation on Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 900-block of Douglas Street just after 10 pm on Saturday, September 23rd. When they arrived, they found a man lying in the road, suffering what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital.

Witnesses reported that the man lying in the street had been in a physical altercation with another man. This other man then, reportedly, left the scene.

Victoria Fire Department, VicPD Investigating Reports of Key Vault Break & Enters

Victoria, BC – VicPD Investigators and Victoria Fire Department personnel are working closely together in the investigation into a series of reports of break and enters to businesses that appear to be linked by the method of entry – defeating Victoria Fire Department key vaults.

Key vaults allow firefighters immediate access to buildings during a fire or other emergency. Their use is standard practice around the world.

Online Reporting Unavailable During Saturday Night Maintenance Outage

Victoria, BC – VicPD’s online reporting service will be down briefly for updating this weekend. The first of the two required outages will occur between 8 -8:30 pm on Saturday, September 23rd. The second occurs Sunday, September 24th around 2 am. During these times, if you need to report a crime that you would normally report online, please call our non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654. It’s Official! PSD Bodi awarded his badge at Esquimalt Council Ceremony

Victoria, BC – VicPD’s newest police service dog (PSD) was officially awarded his badge in a ceremony that took place in the Esquimalt Council Chambers last night. PSD Bodi joins the VicPD K9 team as an explosives detection dog, and has already been deployed in response to calls and in support of operations throughout Victoria and Esquimalt after finishing his basic course in June 2017.
