VicPD Detectives Looking for Help Solving Disturbing Robbery

File #     14-25125 Date:     Thursday, June 26, 2014Listen: VicPD Detectives Looking for Help Solving Disturbing Robbery Victoria BC – VicPD Detectives are looking for the public’s assistance with solving a disturbing robbery that occurred in the late evening on Friday, June 13th.Officers were called to a cash store in the 1200-block of Esquimalt Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. as the lone cashier reported being robbed by a man. Numerous officers attended and found the lone 32-year-old Langford woman, the victim of the robbery, had been sprayed with gasoline.  The victim stated that the suspect had entered the store while she was seated at her desk and sprayed her with what she believed to be gasoline with a sport drink type bottle as he held a lighter.    The victim was told to go in the back room and the suspect took and undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area. The suspect was described as 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 with a medium build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a hoodie, dark sunglasses, black jeans and gloves. He was also wearing a bandana over his face. Due to his disguise, it is unknown what ethnicity the suspect was. Detectives have been investigating since the incident and have canvassed the area and tried to locate witnesses to no avail, they are now looking for further witnesses or information.The investigators are now hoping that anyone with information will come forward to help solve this crime.  If you have information about this, please contact VicPD on the non-emergency line at 250-995-7294 or report it anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
