One Quickly In Custody After Alleged Bank Robbery

Victoria, BC – A Victoria man is in custody after an attempted bank robbery in the 700-block of Fort Street this afternoon.

Patrol and Focused Enforcement Team (FET) officers swarmed the neighbourhood after a call came in around 2 p.m. today of a bank robbery – one minute after the robbery was alleged to have occurred.  Armed with a description, officers began to look for the suspect, who was described to be sporting a distinct tattoo on the back of his neck.

A short time later, officers spotted a man nearby, who had removed his shirt, but otherwise matched the description. He was taken into custody.

The investigation continues at this time.
