Victoria BC – VicPD and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are launching an extensive search of a rural Saanich property with the goal of locating key evidence in the search for Dana McKellar.

McKellar was reported missing to VicPD in September of last year. After a comprehensive investigation, VIIMCU was brought on board to lead the investigation.

Through the investigation it was revealed that McKellar had been previously assaulted in July. Also, as the investigation progressed, officers learned that there may be potential evidence on a property in the 100-block of Goward Road.  A large-scale evidence search is now underway and officers are expected to be on the property for several days.

Investigators are hopeful that this evidence search will help provide some information as to what happed to Mr. McKellar.
