Starting June 27th, 2014, the Victoria Police Department changed the police information checks process to complete only Police Information Checks when an applicant is identified as working with a person or organization responsible for the well-being of children under 18 years or with vulnerable persons who, because of their age, a disability, or other circumstances, whether temporary or permanent, are in a position of dependence on others or are otherwise at greater risk than the general population of being harmed by persons in a position of authority or trust relative to them as is authorized under the Criminal Records Act.
If you are indicate that you are working with vulnerable individuals you will be required to sign a consent that will allow a search of CPIC for any sexual offences for which a pardon has been granted and consent to disclose any pardoned sexual offences.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT VULNERABLE SECTOR SCREENINGS CAN ONLY BE CONDUCTED IF THERE IS A CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT OR CONDITIONAL OFFER OF A VOLUNTEER POSITION**
