Strategic Plan
VicPD's new strategic plan is designed to reflect the people it serves and those who bring it to life. The plan was created after listening to community feedback on the experiences and expectations of people in the City of Victoria and Township of Esquimalt, and to the ideas of VicPD's sworn and civilian members. Those conversations helped shape a plan grounded in building relationships, responding to community needs, and strengthening the organization to meet the growing demands of policing in British Columbia's capital city and the Esquimalt.

Chief Constable Fiona Wilson's Message
"Our ambition was to create a vision, mission and set of values unlike any other Canadian police organization: Distinctly VicPD, meaningful to our people and clear about the service our communities deserve.
Our vision, 'VicPD. The standard for excellence in policing,' challenges us to keep improving.
Our mission, 'To champion public safety with heart and resolve,' speaks to the compassion and determination we bring to that work.
Our values, 'Be accountable. Practice humility. Show up. Think big. Serve exceptionally,' describe how we expect to carry it out, every day.
I am deeply proud of this plan and of this organization. The commitment of our people, the relationships we are strengthening and the progress we are making give me tremendous hope for our future. This plan is a shared commitment to earn trust through our actions, support our people, and build safer communities together. I am grateful to everyone who helped shape it, and proud to lead the people who will bring it to life."
